East Van House Reno
The existing 2nd floor of an east Vancouver heritage house required a redesign of space to include dormers, to expose hidden areas for badly needed closet and floor space. Although older homes often have tons of character and quality detailing, they often lack the required space for modern furniture and storage needs. The client wanted to increase the size of the master bed room to provide area for a king size bed and large closet. They also wanted to turn their daughter’s small nursery into a bedroom. By adding dormers to these two rooms, I was able to incorporate the floor area that was previously hidden within the roof eves thus expanding the floor areas without adding to the home’s footprint.
